Pinnacle Promotions, a promotional materials company, grew quickly and sporadically resulting in a cramped and inefficient space. Through programming interviews, growth studies and space planning exercises; Vickers Design Group provided a solution that increased the operational efficiency by correcting departmental adjacencies while allowing future growth potential without sacrificing the day-to-day work flow. The program consisted of a mix of private offices with open space workstations, training rooms, restaurant-style break room, show room, marketing display areas and informal breakout meeting areas. Full-height walls are carefully placed to maximize daylight throughout the floor plate while creating an open, interactive environment to enhance collaboration between departments.

Vickers Design Group was hired to design a facility that reflects Elekta’s innovation and forward thinking commitment to cancer care solutions. The design included a world-class training facility complemented by an inspiring lobby and customer experience center showcasing Elekta’s history and engineering advancements in oncology. The biggest challenge of the project was installing a three million-pound bunker on the ground floor of an existing 11-story office building to accommodate a fully functional linear accelerator. The upper floors contain a large board room and office space for employees with modern finishes and open floor plan.

Vickers Design Group was asked to update the exterior of Mansell Court from the existing standard brick façade.  Painting the brick, adding wood cladding to the tenant entryways, and oversized building signage not only changed the look and feel of the campus, but provided better wayfinding for visitors.  New monument signage was designed and implemented as well as a new exterior courtyard with colorful sunshades to encourage outdoor gathering by the tenants.

This renovation project included removal of the existing concrete precast exterior skin and roofing system. The newly designed high-efficiency wall and roofing system not only made the building more environmentally friendly, but also updated the look of the building to attract and accommodate a software company. Additional exterior windows increased natural daylight contributing to the building achieving LEED Gold Certification.

Horizon Software specializes in the automation of school nutrition programs across the United States. Creating an environment that fosters collaboration and cross pollination between departments was the main driver behind the space planning aspect of the project. Natural light floods each space regardless of where you are within the building. Corporate branding is present throughout, as well as a modern aesthetic highlighted through glass and materiality.

With its ideal location near the Atlanta Beltline’s Eastside Trail and Ponce City Market, this 5,500-square foot structure just needed a facelift to transform the formerly vacant retail building into a new boutique space along Ponce de Leon Avenue that caters to the active millennial generation. Following a structural inspection that revealed an unstable foundation due to settlement and historically poor framing and roof joists – and a car crash that destroyed the façade, Vickers Design Group worked hand-in-hand with the structural engineers to identify solutions that included underpinning the rear wall, reworking roof supports and refacing the building – while preserving the building’s character and overall integrity. The storefront was returned to its original size, and the rear entries were updated with new decking and an ADA-approved lift.

Pontoon Brewing partnered with Vickers Design Group to create the first microbrewery in the City of Sandy Springs. The 12,000-sq. ft. space includes a 10bbl system, associated cooler, lab and storage as well as expansion space for future canning line and barrel aging. The taproom of the brewery is minimalistic and very functional by design. Renovating the existing restrooms in their existing location provided a less expensive alternative to relocation. The open taproom allows for multiple bar locations as well as larger areas for events.
